The commercial teams of RAI Amsterdam, a large venue and event organizer, would like to learn more about Design Thinking, after some took part in the Event Industry Hackathon in 2018. Could STUDIO.WHY organize an offsite to deliver this experience, while people get to know one another better and think about how this can help us to do an even better job?
STUDIO.WHY organized a program of 12 hours at our innovation studio in the Netherlands. The participants took a deep dive in our Design Thinking Experience, a learning experience where the participants play a serious game. The teams got the challenge by the director of a theme park, met visitors, held empathetic conversations and gained insights. Later on they used their creativity to come up with great ideas, turned them into concepts and tested them. The experience contains a fictive challenge and all of these stakeholders were actors to deliver a great experience.
The commercial teams learned how to dive into the needs of the end-user, to dig deeper and really develop empathy. They learned creative techniques for brainstorming and reflected on the lessons learned of how to apply this in daily business as well as on how they cope as a team.
