In 2015, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offered a comprehensive plan for a sustainable world in 2030. However, progress is not fast enough, and we urgently need to increase our collective skills to tackle complex challenges and work with them effectively.
Inner Development Goals
That is why the IDG Foundation, in close collaboration with more than 1,000 scientists, created the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) – a non-profit initiative dedicated to promoting inner development towards a more sustainable future. The IDG Foundation researches, collects, and communicates science-based skills and qualities that help us live purposeful, sustainable, and productive lives. Five dimensions
The IDG Framework was developed in collaboration with experts, scientists, and practitioners and consists of five dimensions with 23 skills related to human inner growth and development.

Global Leadership for Sustainable Development
In 2024, Kees Froeling, one of our founders, participated in the Global Leadership for Sustainable Development 2.0 program at the invitation of the IDG Foundation. Around 150 people from five countries and three continents took part in this program. They came from governments, foundations, education, citizen initiatives, and businesses. Kees brought the experiences and insights he gained there back to STUDIO.WHY and shares them in this webinar.
Transition Hacking
The IDGs are an important part of our Transition Hacking programs. After all, in addition to knowledge, mindset, and methodologies, personal leadership plays an important role in the transition process. We therefore include the 23 skills of the IDGs in this, but also in our training courses, for example.
IDG Collective
