The Action Learning Network in Care aims to drive change in healthcare by sharing good examples and connecting frontrunners. A large-scale meeting is held annually. Such was the case on December 2, 2019, when hundreds of healthcare professionals and administrators gathered in the Brabanthallen. STUDIO.WHY was asked to get the group moving after the opening by looking, thinking and acting differently.
We provided a 45-minute plenary program in which we put people in action mode. Participants got to work around the question, “How will you grab the potential?” They wrote down their most important desire for change in their organization, turned it into an airplane and threw it forward. Then they engaged in conversation with someone next to them whom they did not yet know around the question, “What have you contributed to this change a year from now? And how is that reflected in the organization?” It led to a huge burst of energy :)
Finally, they shared their request for help in this, wrote it on a postcard and these were visible at the exit as leaves of a large tree.
Everyone leaving was asked to bring a card with a request for help that they thought they could help with, and actually lend a helping hand after this networking day. Many new connections were made in this way, we were told from various quarters.
