The province of Gelderland runs a program to tackle various challenges regarding education and the labour market. STUDIO.WHY was selected as a partner for this program, dealing with challenges like the shortage on teachers and the lack of digital skills among some groups in the labour market, diminishing their opportunities to find a job. As a part of this program, STUDIO.WHY and the province agreed that the officials of the province should be able to facilitate the program on their own. How can we transfer the knowledge and skills to we enable the province to proceed without STUDIO.WHY?
We organized a training of several days, based on an Entrepreneurial Design Thinking Experience and various modules regarding the role as a facilitator and organizer. The participants practised and learned from each other, while adding up the the teamspirit. The atmosphere facilitated this process, resulting in a very high score.
After the training we started to co-facilitate sessions and challenged them to step in the spotlight and just do it. Besides the tools and techniques, the mindset is key. During the last year of the program, the officials of the province will take the lead more often, while the facilitators of STUDIO.WHY will cover their backs. This really reflects the vision of STUDIO.WHY, tha we want to be the driving instructor instead of the cabdriver, so we become obsolete and the client can move on without our assistance.
