Prevent unnecessary travel

CHALLENGE

At RAI Amsterdam, a major venue in the Netherlands, many events take place. Prior to and after an event, a lot of communication take place.  But also, a digital experience might even be a substitute for some events, making travel absolute and in that way, contribute to a more sustainable world.

This was one of the challenges at The Event Industry Hackathon at RAI Amsterdam:

How can digital experiences contribute to the integration of exhibitions into the customer journey?

SOLUTION

During the Event Industry hackathon 2018, two teams of each 5 people, took it upon them to find a solution for this challenge. They joined several masterclasses, interviewed stakeholders and generated a lot of ideas. After almost 24 hours of hard work and hardly no sleep, the two teams presented their concepts for the Dragons Den.

RESULT

RAI Amsterdam experienced that working together with partners fo find solutions for these kind of problems was something they would like to do more often. In the video you can see that having a hackathon at each trade show or convention adds great value. After the hackathon, STUDIO.WHY was asked to train the commercial teams to have a different kind of conversation with the clients of RAI Amsterdam.
